Frequently Asked Questions

What happens after I submit a claim?

Answer:

Our experts will review your claim. If we require clarification or additional documentation, we will contact you to let you know. After completion of this review, you will be informed whether you are or are not a class member.

How much money
could I receive?

Answer:

How much you receive depends on a number of factors, such as where you lived, how long you lived there, if you have any children there with you, etc. Compensation ranges from $250 to $1,000 (or more!) per month, with total compensation being potentially as high as tens of thousands of dollars per class member.

Will I have to pay any out-of-pocket costs?

Answer:

No.

What if I don't have any health issues so far?

Answer:

You can still be a class member. Having experienced health issues associated with TCE exposure is not an eligibility criteria for this class action. Your health was still placed at risk due to the TCE contamination, even if, as far as you know, it has not affected your overall health.

What happens if my claim is accepted?

Answer:

Our Claims Administrator will contact you to let you know you are indeed a class member. Our Claims Administrator will be in charge of issuing payment to you, which will be delivered by cheque via regular letter mail, or by direct deposit.  This process can take several months, as there are many claims to administer. Thank you for your patience!

What happens if my claim is rejected?

Answer:

If, after review of your claim, we determine that you do not meet all eligibility criteria, Claims Administrator will contact you to let you know that you are not considered a class member. You will not have to pay any costs or fees.
